About this Garden Plan

Pests in my successive garden are onion flies, leaf miners, and thrips which eat onion. Crickets, grasshoppers, moths, leaf miners, aphids, whiteflies, mites and caterpillars cause harm to the sweet potatoes. The insects that eat broccoli are aphids, moth and caterpillars. In the beneficial garden, the parsley, dill and lavender attract hoverflies, which prey on aphids. The lemon balm, parsley and thyme attract the tachinid flies, which are parasites of caterpillars and beetle and fly larvae. Trichogramma wasps lay eggs in eggs of moths and kills them, and the herbs that attract these insects are dill, lemon balm, parsley and thyme. The dill attract ladybugs which feed on aphids, whiteflies and mites. The strawberries attract fruit flies, slugs, snails, earwigs and aphids. Plant fennel to deter snails and slugs. The raspberries attract fruit worm beetles. Spray crops with the biopesticide Spinosad to control. Blueberries attract birds. Its controlled by putting a netting around the plant. Aphids feed on blueberries. Its controlled by planting beneficial plants that attract aphid predators. Dill and lavender are used to attract hoverflies. Cantaloupe attract whiteflies and aphids, which can be controlled by also using beneficial plants such as dill, lavender, and parsley. These herbs attract hoverflies and ladybugs which feed on aphids and whiteflies. They attract grass and leaf hoppers, which can be controlled by planting alfalfa, spearmint or marigold because they bring big eyed bugs as predators. Thyme, dill and marigold are all trap crops for beans and cucumbers. Marigold and dill attract hoverflies and ladybugs that prey on aphids and whiteflies. Marigolds also attract leaf hoppers which attracts away from the beans. Marigolds are biochemical pest suppressions because they produce thiopene, which deter harmful nematodes in the soil. The beans ae a symbiotic nitrogen fixation for the garden because they increase the nitrogen in soil.
